Plotly Cloud offers a quick way to publish and share data apps built with Dash or Plotly Studio. The process starts with a free login, where users can drag app files directly into the platform. The interface displays a preview of the files and allows for custom names and URLs before publishing with one click.
Once an app appears in the apps list, sharing permissions can be configured immediately. The platform supports granular access controls, allowing specific team members to be assigned as viewers or editors. For instance, one colleague could receive full edit access while the rest of a team is set to view only. This determines who can modify the project versus simply interact with it.
After the app builds and goes live, it generates a shareable link. Anyone with explicit view permissions can access and interact with the application at their convenience. The platform also includes Enterprise features like single sign-on and access to additional libraries.
Key features include:
- Drag and drop publishing for Dash and Plotly Studio apps
- Granular sharing controls at the individual and team level
- Custom URLs for each published project
- Instant link sharing for anyone with permissions
